We were drawn to Fiddler on the Roof for many reasons. The story is universal, passionate, and as timeless as the music.

Fiddler on the Roof is a classic Broadway show brimming with marvelous melodies that "invite and allow" creative transformations that Jazz musicians have enjoyed for decades.

Jazz Fiddler on the Roof grew out of our desire to keep the essence of Jerry Bock's score intact, yet to expand the idiom to fit our improvisational needs.

Harmonic, rhythmic, and textural liberties were taken, but without compromising the core emotional message of Fiddler on the Roof.  We greatly appreciate the supportive contributions of drummer John Mosemann.

Overall, the process of recording Jazz Fiddler on the Roof has touched us.
